Fireworks Are Now Illegal in the City of Gig Harbor

Last summer City Council passed an Ordinance banning the sale and discharge of fireworks in city limits.

2023 is the first year that the full ban is in effect. Also starting in 2023, Pierce County (outside of Gig Harbor city limits) will only allow fireworks on July 4 and December 31.

Soundview Watermain Project - Expect Traffic Delays

“APS, the City’s locating contractor, will be on-site June 8 thru approximately June 23 locating underground utilities.

Traffic control will be on-site and there may be alternating traffic with flaggers at times.  Please slow down while traveling through the area to keep workers safe.

2021 State Building Codes Implementation Delayed

On May 24, the State Building Code Council voted to delay the implementation of the 2021 Washington State Building Codes under emergency rule for 120 days starting on June 30, 2023.

The new effective date for all building codes is October 29, 2023.

Apply Now to Reserve Boat Storage Space at Ancich Waterfront Park

The City of Gig Harbor is now accepting applications to rent storage space for canoes, kayaks or stand up paddleboards at its Ancich Waterfront Park storage building for the period of July through December 2023.
