The City of Gig Harbor issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter 197-11-WAC) for the following project:
Applications PL-REZ-21-0001/PL-SEPA-21-0007 – Smith Rezone
The proposal is a non-project action to rezone the subject site’s current Employment District (ED) and Single-Family Residential (R-1) zoning districts to the Medium-density Residential (R-2) Zoning District. The subject site’s Land Use Designation is Residential Medium (RM) and the R-2 Zoning District is an implementing zone of the RM Land Use Designation, consistent with GHMC 17.12.015.
Effects associated with potential future development on the subject site will be evaluated at the time of review of required development permits and will undergo a distinct threshold determination review.
The site is located at 6302 112 Street & 11302 Burnham Dr, site is located on both sides of 112th street at the intersection of 112th street and 63rd Ave NW. Sec 25, Tw 22, R 01 Qtr 34.
After review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the agency, the City of Gig Harbor has determined the above proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment.

The public is invited to comment on this DNS by submitting written comments to the above address no later than August 10, 2021. This DNS does not become final until the end of the comment period. The deadline for appealing the final SEPA Threshold Determination is August 17, 2021.
