Posted on: June 7, 2021

Civic Center Closed to the Public

The Civic Center is closed to the public in accordance with on-going restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Limited in-person services are available.

This closure will be re-evaluated before July 1, 2021. Once a decision to re-open the Civic Center has been made, it will be announced in advance to the community.  It is vital for our city to maintain the ability to function by protecting the health of those around us so we may continue to govern and provide services.

City staff are available via phone and email, and city inspections will continue. The main phone number for City Hall is (253) 851-8136.

Utility bill payments can be made by calling 253-530-7030, by drop box in front of City Hall, or online at https://www.cityofgigharbor.net/334/Pay-Utilities-Online.  Billing questions and inquiries like start or stop service must be completed by phone 253-851-6157 or email utilities@cityofgigharbor.net.

We are now offering limited services in-person by appointment only:

  • FINGERPRINTING SERVICES (Concealed Pistol License, background checks, professional licenses) – Available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 - 12:00 and 2:00 - 4:30 for City residents or businesses only.  Information on fingerprinting services is available on our City’s FAQ page at https://www.cityofgigharbor.net/Faq.aspx?QID=145.
  • PROPERTY RETURN - Items of found property or items no longer needed for court will be released by appointment.  Community Service Officer Blodgett will be contacting property owners to release their items.
  • PRESCRIPTION DRUG TURN-IN – does not require an appointment. Police Department staff will accept expired or unneeded prescription drugs at the front door to the Civic Center (3510 Grandview Street) each Monday beginning June 7 from 10:00 a.m. - Noon.  No needles or liquids can be accepted.

We will continue to update you as the situation changes.  As always, your health and the well-being of those around you is our primary concern.
