Requests for Public Records 

Requests for public records may be filed with the City Clerk using the Request for Public Records form.


Fees for obtaining records have been adopted as follows:


a)       Inspection of records at Civic Center                                      No fee

b)       8-1/2 x 11”, 8-1/2” x 14” & 11” x 17” B&W Copies              $   0.15 per page

                       No charge for first 50 pages

c)       Scanned copies                                                                     $   0.10 per page

                       No charge for first 50 pages

d)       Scanned documents: greater than 11” x 17”                          $   0.50 per page

e)       Electronic Files or attachments to an email                           $   0.05 per every 4

                      If the number of files is 80 or less, the fee will be waived. 84 files = $1.05

f)        Records transmitted in electronic format                                $   0.10 per gigabyte

g)       Digital Storage Media Device (CD/DVD, flash drive)                          actual cost

h)       Outside Vendor                                                                       actual cost

i)        Envelope / Postage                                                                 actual cost

j)        Customized Service Charge *                                                 actual cost

k)       Police body camera or dash camera video redactions

           (redacting, altering, distorting, pixelating, suppressing, or

             Otherwise obscuring) per RCW 42.56.240(14) **                 $60.25 per hour

 

In the event a request is estimated to exceed $25, the City may require a deposit in an amount not to exceed 10% of the estimated cost prior to the duplication of record(s).

 

* When the request would require the use of IT expertise to prepare data compilations or when such customized access services are not used by the agency for other business purposes. The agency may charge actual cost.

 

** Unless otherwise exempted from such fee by applicable RCW.
