2010 Art Grants
On Monday, November 16, City Council recommended against funding the 2010 grant program. Their difficult decision came on the heals of broad budget cuts and employee layoffs.
Although the Council recommended preserving the $80,000 Public Art Fund that was established in 2004 for public art placements, it cannot be used to fund 2010's grants. They also directed that no public art placement projects be initiated during 2010. Depending on economic conditions next year, the Public Art Fund may be reduced.
On December 14, the 2010 Budget was passed. The City's 2010 ART GRANT PROGRAM HAS BEEN SUSPENDED.
