The Human Resource Office is dedicated to serving the citizens of the City of Gig Harbor by developing, implementing and supporting programs and policies that add value to the City and its employees. To achieve this, we focus on delivering high quality customer service, fostering open and honest communications, and ensuring equality and consistency in all our interactions with the public, staff and stakeholders. Responsibilities of the Human Resource office include planning, organizing, and administering the City’s human resource systems and services, including health benefits, employee safety, worker’s compensation, labor relations, and compliance with employment regulations and guidelines as dictated by federal, state, and municipal laws. This position also manages recruitment and selection; job classification and compensation plans; and training and development.

The Human Resources Manager serves as the Civil Service Secretary/Chief Examiner for the Civil Service Commission.
