NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS: HARBORVIEW / JUDSON STREET IMPROVEMENTS The City of Gig Harbor will begin design and engineering for road, pedestrian, and utility improvements on Judson Street and Harborview Drive.  Construction of these improvements is anticipated to occur in 2009.  The City seeks public input and participation throughout the conceptual design process.  A series of public meetings will be held between now and the end of the summer.    All of these meetings are open to the public.  Future meetings:  Harborview Drive & Judson Street Improvements Meeting Schedule.

 

INVITATION TO BIDDERS - CANTERWOOD BLVD. ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - REVISED BID DATE: July 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
The City of Gig Harbor requests sealed bid proposals for construction of the Canterwood Blvd. NW Roadway Improvements Project, CSP 0817.  The work to be completed under this contract generally consists of but is not limited to the reconstruction of approximately 1,400 feet of roadway; construction of new sidewalks and curb and gutter; reinforced concrete retaining walls and concrete block retaining walls; installation of storm drainage pipes, structures, stormwater detention vault, and water quality vault manhole; trenchless installation of a 24-inch diameter storm drain pipe under SR 16; sanitary sewer force main relocation; illumination system with decorative light poles; striping; permanent signing; traffic control; installation of a solid bottom box culvert; fishway construction, stream relocation and restoration; wetland mitigation and restoration, grading and plantings; temporary erosion and sediment control measures; and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, the City of Gig Harbor Public Works Standards (most current version) and the Standard Specifications.  Telephone inquiries regarding the project may be directed to Marcos McGraw, Project Engineer, 253-853-2647.

WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT:  Burnham Drive between Prentice and Franklin Avenue, Franklin between Burnham Drive and Fuller Street, and Fuller Street between Prentice and Franklin Avenue - Project start date: June 18th
Lydel Construction will begin work on the 2008 Water Main Replacement Project CWP-0809 on Wed. June 18^th.  The project consists of replacing approximately 1,400’ of old 6” asbestos concrete water main with new 8” ductile iron water main on Burnham Drive between Prentice and Franklin, Franklin between Burnham and Fuller, and Fuller between Prentice and Franklin.  They will also be connecting new service lines and setters for all affected water connections.  Please contact Project Manager Marcos McGraw at (253) 853-2647 or Construction Inspector George Flanigan at (253) 853-7695 for more information or questions.  Click here for more info...

SEWER ONSHORE PROJECT on North Harborview Drive

ROADWAY REPAVING PROJECT

Wollochet Drive Roadway Widening - from Wagner Way to Hunt Street
Peninsula Civil Contractors will be completing road widening work beginning 5-15-08. Work will be on going until completed.  Expect traffic delays.
