Gig Harbor has a unique character that, after 50
years, has grown very dear to me. My decision
to become mayor was, in part, because I'd like
my grandchildren to experience the remarkable
beauty my wife and I have enjoyed all these
years.
During the campaign last year the
question residents asked the most was, “How
can we preserve our quality of life?”
There is no simple
answer because it’s not a “one size fits all”
solution.

The answer lies in sound planning and
strong leadership.
We must understand Gig
Harbor's history and the needs of individual
neighborhoods throughout our city. From Gig Harbor
North and the Westside; the Downtown and Stinson,
Pioneer, Soundview and Peacock Hills; and our historic
neighborhoods of Millville and the Finholm District --
we all expect adequate services, safety and access to
city government. We want a stable environment for our
families and our youth. What we do today, will define
our quality of life for generations. As mayor, I will
be your advocate. My office hours at the Civic
Center are from 9am to 4pm Monday through Thursday.
Our website is a great place for citizens
to follow our progress, access regulatory
information, locate meeting dates and contact us
directly. If you have any questions or comments, send
an e-mail to me directly: hunterc@cityofgigharbor.net. |
