One Harbor Point Development Agreement

The Ben .B. Cheney Foundation and Neil Walter Company are proposing a Development Agreement per the provisions of the Gig Harbor Municipal Code to allow the One Harbor Point development at the intersection of Harborview and Soundview Drives in Gig Harbor, Washington. The project, as recently revised, consists of two sites including the upland triangular-shaped site and the Boat Barn site located across Harborview Drive to the east.

Burnham Drive Apartments 

This proposal includes an 80-unit apartment complex with a community building, parking, and utility extensions on an irregularly shaped parcel of 4.45 acres. The development will include five 3-story multi-family residential buildings, a 2-story carriage unit building with garages on the first level and apartment units on the second, and a single story community building with leasing offices. The site is located in the City’s B-2 Zoning District (General Business) and the MUD Overlay (Mixed Use District). Multiple-Family Dwellings are a conditional use in this zone and therefore require a conditional use approval. The site is generally hilly and a ravine with associated steep slopes exists near the eastern property line. This ravine area is to be left in a natural state.

The development of appropriate land use regulations and amendments to the Comprehensive Plan.

2017 Annual Comprehensive Plan Amendments

The Growth Management Act (GMA) authorizes the City to amend the Comprehensive Plan on an annual basis. The City Council on February 13, 2017 moved one city initiated application forward for consideration. This application includes amendments for the upcoming work to the Transportation Element, the Non-Motorized Transportation Plan, data and text updates relating to the Pierce County Small Cities Growth Reallocation work and other small scale changes for consistency throughout.

Sign Code Update

The City is holding an open house on April 6, 2017 to initiate public outreach on the upcoming sign code update. the meeting in April will focus on temporary signs in the public right-of-way. This project website will have regular updates as the project moves forward.

Marijuana Related Uses

Under Ordinance No. 1323 the City of Gig Harbor enacted a ban on all Marijuana Related Uses.
