TRAFFIC IMPACT INFORMATION - Stinson Avenue Road Closure

Stinson Avenue will be closed daily (7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday- Friday) from September 27 through October 31, to thru traffic north of the roundabout at Rosedale Street to Harborview Drive.

A detour route is in place and local access to businesses and residence will be maintained. Local residents that live on Stinson Avenue will be allowed access but there will be no thru traffic during the hours of the closure.

Gig Harbor Civic Center Open to the Public - Face Coverings Required at all Times

The Gig Harbor Civic Center is open to the general public. All persons entering the Civic Center are now required to wear a face covering as directed by Secretary of Health Order 20-03.4. All City meetings will continue to be held remotely on Zoom.

Disposable face coverings are provided inside the front doors to the Civic Center.

Campaign Signage

With campaign season heating up for the August Primary and November General Elections, it's important to remember that the City's Sign Code needs to be observed for all temporary signs on public and private property.

There are regulations which govern the allowable sign area, the number of temporary signs allowed and the maximum duration a temporary sign may be displayed. Signs installed without a permit are subject to civil penalty charges.

Statewide Plastic Bag Ban to go into effect on October 1, 2021

Responding to growing plastic bag pollution, the Washington State Legislature in 2020 passed a statewide ban on single-use plastic bags that is scheduled to take effect on October 1. This new law supersedes the City's "Bring Your Own Bag" Ordinance.

The new State law was scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2021, but was delayed due to COVID-19 precautions. Once the new law goes into effect, Washington state will:
